Aileron Mod (1.20.1, 1.19.2) aims to align Elytra with other transportation systems within Minecraft while also expanding their functionality. We aim to enhance their enjoyment and balance by introducing new mechanics and enchantments, primarily catering to multiplayer dynamics but remaining enjoyable in single-player mode. Should you have any reservations regarding our design decisions, fear not! Everything is adjustable to suit your preferences. The rationale behind this endeavor is quite simple. Minecraft revolves heavily around exploration, yet Elytra disrupts this concept by enabling players to swiftly traverse the terrain without the need for infrastructure or limitations. Consequently, this diminishes the significance of the landscape, creates a sense of diminishment in the world’s vastness, and reduces the need for interaction between players in their base-building endeavors. Furthermore, Elytra overshadows other transportation methods entirely, rendering meticulously constructed railroad networks, intricate nether hubs, and expansive ice highways obsolete. Even the effort put into breeding exceptional horses becomes inconsequential. Our solution? We aim to elevate Elytra to require a comparable level of investment, making them a more rewarding upgrade and allowing users to repurpose their existing constructions.

    • Camera Tilt: Experience dynamic flight with the player’s camera tilting during rapid turns at high velocities while using Elytra.
    • Updrafts: Utilize campfires to launch vertically into the air upon release, or receive a boost while flying over them, enhancing vertical mobility.
  • Firework Contrails:
    • Enjoy stunning visual effects as fireworks now leave lingering trails behind them, purely for cosmetic purposes.
  • Enchantments:
    • Smokestack: Store boosts while crouching on campfires, then unleash them with a jump key during flight for a burst of speed. Accumulate up to three maximum boosts per level.
    • Cloudskipper: Glide effortlessly for extended durations and at higher speeds above the cloud layer, with reduced horizontal drag based on altitude. This enchantment is incompatible with
    • Smokestack and offers a unique treasure enchantment option.
