Even though chainmail armor is one of the weakest armor in the game, it is also the rarest one. Even the strongest armor set, netherite, can be obtained by the player.  But the only way to obtain chainmail armor in the game is by looting treasure chests, trading and mob drops. By using iron ingots, you can craft iron armor pieces, but you cannot craft chainmail armor using chains. Chain Crafter Mod (1.21.1, 1.20.6), as the name suggests, allows you to craft chainmail armor using chains.
