Maps are one of the most useful items in the survival game. By using a map, you will be able to navigate through unknown places with ease. The vanilla crafting recipe for maps requires a compass to craft. And compasses require iron ingots and redstone to craft. This means, crafting maps can get a bit expensive in the beginner stage of the game. Cheaper Maps Mod (1.21.1, 1.20.1), as the name suggests, allows you to craft maps for much cheaper. The mod basically alters the crafting recipe of maps to use ink sacs or black dye instead of a compass. This allows you to obtain a large number of maps at a much cheaper rate. The crafting recipes are given in the screenshots section below.
