Minecrafts food and health system is slightly complicated. The food you consume will increase your hunger bar, which counts as saturation. Your health will start increasing only if you have enough saturation points. But this always was not the case. In earlier versions of the game, the food you eat would directly contribute towards your health bar. You eat and your health increases – It was as simple as that. Classic Food Mod (1.21.1, 1.20.1) brings back this old system to the newer versions of the game.
