If you’re accustomed to playing Minecraft, you’re familiar with the game’s world generation. It has evolved many times since the early versions—sometimes subtly, with the addition of biomes (as in version 1.19), and other times more significantly (as in version 1.18). Despite these changes, world generation still has some limitations. While it’s great for straightforward gameplay, it can lack richness, and a touch of originality can greatly enhance a new playthrough.

Continents Mod (1.21.3, 1.20.1) offers a completely new and richer world generation. As the name suggests, the worlds it generates consist of true continents surrounded by a vast ocean, which also contains islands of varying sizes. These worlds are somewhat reminiscent of our current planet, and they provide an interesting twist for rediscovering Minecraft during your adventures—whether playing solo or with others. Your exploration habits will be disrupted by this new generation.

To ensure that the beginning isn’t too challenging, the spawn point is always in the middle of a medium-sized island. This allows you to gather all the necessary resources and get your bearings before embarking on the exploration of this blue (and cubic) planet and its numerous continents.

Continents is also compatible with other generation mods, such as Terralith, Biomes o’ Plenty, and Oh The Biomes You’ll Go. Additionally, it works perfectly well with the Large Biomes world type.
