Crying Portals Mod (1.21.3, 1.20.1) brings a new feature to the game, allowing you to build Nether Portals using both Obsidian and Crying Obsidian Blocks. The Nether is a place like hell, with different types of monsters and structures that you can explore where chests are full of treasure. But to get down to The Nether, you’ll have to build Nether Portals. A small portal also requires eight obsidian blocks, so it won’t be easy to get down to The Nether early because Obsidian can only be mined with a Diamond Pickaxe. But sometimes, there are abandoned or unfinished portals all over the world. If you’re lucky, you might come across an almost complete portal, just missing one or two obsidian blocks. And if you are fortunate enough to have a Crying Obsidian block available, you can now create a complete Nether portal. The primary purpose of Crying Portals Mod is to help you decorate your Nether portal, as well as add a way for you to build a nether portal without using each Obsidian Block as default.
