Cull Less Leaves Mod (1.21.1, 1.20.1) improves the Culling option of the game by a large margin with a simple, yet complex tweak. Normally, a tree often contains numerous leaves on top of them as a regular tree would, and Mojang decided to implement an option, in which, players can choose to only render the outside leaves, thus improving the game’s overall performance greatly. However, with this option being set, trees would look quite dreadful and empty as they don’t seem to have any lives, yet, this option does prove to be quite efficacious regarding performance improvement. With Cull Less Leaves, however, players can enjoy the good of both worlds since the trees would look more full and the performance would still be ameliorated greatly, thus allowing players to immerse themselves in a rich, lively world while playing the game in a comfortable FPS.

This is a reworked and improved version of the Cull Leaves mod (with a 9% increase in performance). The mod optimizes foliage by preventing the game from rendering leaf blocks that are behind other leaf blocks, which significantly reduces the load on your computer and increases FPS.

The mod has several working modes. In the most efficient mode, the foliage becomes much more transparent (only one leaf block is rendered and displayed), but there is also a more realistic option.
