Required Materials to make a Dragon Egg
In Minecraft, these are the materials you can use to craft a dragon egg:
You can add a dragon egg to your inventory in Survival mode by killing an ender dragon. So let’s get started!
1. Find an Ender Dragon
You first need to find an ender dragon. The ender dragon is a boss mob that is found in the End dimension.
You can get to the End dimension by completing an End Portal that acts as a doorway between the Overworld and the End.
2. Attack and Kill the Ender Dragon
Once you find an ender dragon, you need to attack it. When you attack the ender dragon, it will turn pink as it takes damage.
Continue to chase and attack the ender dragon. You will see its health bar go down as you attack it.
Once the ender dragon has been defeated, it will glow purple and begin to disintegrate until it vanishes. Once this happens, experience will drop to the ground as well as a dragon egg.
3. Build a Stone Platform
If you wish to add the dragon egg to your inventory, there are special instructions. Let’s learn how to add the dragon egg to our inventory.
In order to add the dragon egg to your inventory, you need 10 stones, 1 piston, and 1 redstone torch.
First, make a stone platform using the stones like the picture below. You need to place 8 stones around the dragon egg to make a platform and you need to place 1 more stone at the end of one side.
4. Place a Piston
Next, place the piston in between the dragon egg and the stone at the end of the platform.
TIP:Â The wooden part of the piston must be touching the dragon egg as shown in the picture below.
5. Place a Stone
Then place 1 more stone at the other side of the dragon egg, so that there is 1 stone and 1 piston on either side of the dragon egg.
6. Place a Redstone Torch
Finally, place the redstone torch next to the piston.
Once you have placed the redstone torch next to the piston, the piston will activate.
7. Pick up the Dragon Egg
You should now see the dragon egg floating on the ground.
Make sure you pick up the dragon egg before it disappears. This is the only way to add a dragon egg to your inventory in Minecraft.
