Dripstone was introduced to the game in the Caves & Cliffs update. Dripstone by itself can only be placed vertically and any mob that falls onto it will take damage. Dripped Out Mod (1.21.1, 1.20.6) makes it possible to place dripstone horizontally on walls in such a way that they are pointed sideways. And players and mobs that walk into this dripstone will take some damage. This new horizontal dripstone opens up the opportunity to build creative traps and mob killers.
