Dual Swords Mod (1.21.4, 1.20.1) – Parry, Riposte and Dual Wield
Dual Swords Mod (1.21.4, 1.20.1) is a vanilla+ styled mod that adds intuitive dual wielding mechanics to the game. By default, all swords provide a small amount of damage when wielded in the offhand. Dual Swords is a mod that introduces dual wielding mechanics to Minecraft. Instead of allowing the user to attack with the offhand, they instead gain a damage bonus from holding an offhand sword. Parry, Riposte, and Daisho enchantments enhance the use of an offhand sword.
Features:
Daisho
- Daisho is an offhand weapon treasure enchantment introduced in Dual Swords.
- Mechanics
- When the user is wielding a tool (swords, pickaxes, etc) in their mainhand and a weapon with Daisho in their offhand, they receive a damage increase. Parrying with a Daisho-enchanted weapon will incur a longer cooldown.
- Parry Cooldown Increase: 5 * level
- Damage Increase: 1.2 * level
- Obtaining
- Unlike Parry and Riposte, Daisho is a rare treasure enchantment. It cannot be obtained from the enchanting table, fishing, or librarian trades. Daisho additionally has RARE enchantment weighting and will be more costly to put onto a sword.
- Sources of Daisho Books:
- Stronghold Library Chests (33%)
- Woodland Mansion Chests (20%)
- Pillager Output Chests (15%)
- Hero of the Village: Weaponsmith Reward (5%, renewable)
- Compatibility
- Parry is incompatible with the following enchantments:
- Riposte
- Damage Enchantments (such as Sharpness and Smite)
- Sweeping Edge
- Fire Aspect
- Looting
Parry:
- Parry is a weapon enchantment and mechanic introduced in Dual Swords.
- Mechanics
- Items enchanted with Parry render upside-down in both first and third person views. Breaking blocks or attacking with an item enchanted with Parry will temporarily undo this visual effect.
- Using an item with Parry will raise it to the centre of the screen and have the player model perform the shield block animation. Whilst the item is raised, the user is considered blocking as if with a shield. Parrying a direct (melee) attack will deal damage to the attacker, scaling with the weapon damage of the sword used.
- Note: Attacks that disable shields (such as Axe hits) cannot be parried.
- Parrying an attack puts the sword on cooldown, for 30 ticks.
- The maximum use time of a sword with Parry is 20 ticks, the parry is active 2 ticks after the sword is used.
- Compatibility
- Parry is incompatible with the following enchantments:
- Damage Enchantments (such as Sharpness and Smite)
- Sweeping Edge
- Fire Aspect
- Looting
Riposte:
- An offhand weapon enchantment introduced in Dual Swords.
- Mechanics
- Riposte increases the damage dealt to melee attackers when performing a parry.
- Damage is increased by: 1 * level
- Compatibility
- Riposte is incompatible with the following enchantments:
- Daisho
- Damage Enchantments (such as Sharpness and Smite)
- Sweeping Edge
- Fire Aspect
- Looting
