Vertical travel in Minecraft can be achieved with the help of many different methods. There are complex redstone based elevators that can move a player vertically at high speeds. But this required complex redstone knowledge and resources to build. Water based elevators are fast and easy, but they can easily ruin the aesthetics of your build. The intended vanilla method of vertical travel is by using ladders. But these are outright one of the slowest methods for vertical travel. All of the in-game methods are either difficult to build or will ruin the aesthetics of your world. Easy Elevators Mod (1.21.4, 1.20.1) is here with the solution. This mod adds elevators that allow the player to instantly teleport between vertical heights. By using iron or copper blocks, players can construct elevator bases for different floors and then connect them using iron chains or end rods. By standing on lower base and then jumping, the player will get teleported to a higher base. Likewise, the player can teleport to a lower base by crouching. Detailed instructions are given below.

Features:

Configuration Options

  • elevatorBlocks (default = “minecraft:iron_block,minecraft:copper_block”): The resourcelocations of blocks that are considered to be an elevator block.
  • elevatorChains (default = “minecraft:chain,minecraft:end_rod”): The resourcelocations of blocks that are considered to be an elevator chain.
  • minimumElevatorSize (default = 3, min 1, max 33): The minimum size an elevator has to be. By default 3, which means a 3×3 area.
  • maximumElevatorSize (default = 5, min 1, max 33): The maximum size an elevator can be. By default 5, which means a 5×5 area.
  • elevatorMustBeConnectedViaChains (default = true): Whether two iron blocks must be connected via a chain in order to function as an elevator.
  • maximumChainlessElevatorHeight (default = 20, min 1, max 1000): The maximum amount of blocks the elevator can go up or down in one go with ‘elevatorMustBeConnectedViaChains’ disabled. More specifically, how many blocks the mod checks up and down to find another elevator block.

Build a 3×3 or 5×5 base. You can build it using iron or copper blocks, or a combination of both.

Build a chain tower to your desired height. You can use iron chains or end rods, or a combination of both.

At the end of the chain, build the upper floor. Like the lower base, you can use iron or copper blocks, or combination of both.

Stand on the lower floor and jump to get teleported to a higher floor.

Stand on a higher floor and crouch to get teleported to a lower floor.
