An evoker is a new type of illager mob released in Minecraft. You can find this new mob in Woodland Mansions. Let’s learn about evokers in Minecraft.

Hostility Level (Hostile)

An evoker is a hostile mob. The term mob is short for mobile and is used to refer to all living, moving creatures in the game such as chickens, creepers, and evokers. Because an evoker is a hostile mob, it will attack you in Survival mode but not Creative mode.

Health Points

In Minecraft, an evoker has 12 hearts  for health. This gives an evoker 24 health points (because 1 heart = 2 health points). To kill an evoker, you need to inflict 24 points of damage to the evoker.

Where to Find Evokers

In Minecraft, you can find evokers in Woodland Mansions which are found in the Dark Forest biome.

To find an evoker, you will need to go to the top floor of a Woodland Mansion and check in each of the rooms.

If you are having trouble finding an evoker, you can also summon an evoker using a cheat or you can use a spawn egg.

Weapon

An evoker does not carry a weapon.

Attack Method

In Minecraft, an evoker has 2 different attack styles – vex summoning or fang attack.

1. Vex Summoning – The first attack, which appears to be the most common attack from an evoker, is called vex summoning. The evoker will run away and hold up its arms. Gray particles will rise from its hands while it summons usually 2 to 4 Vexes which are a smaller winged mob. These Vexes will fly towards you and attack you with their swords.

2. Fang Attack – The second attack is a magic attack called a fang attack. With this attack, the evoker will also run away and hold up its arms while it casts magic. You will see purple particles rise from its hands and then a wave fangs (looks like large X’s) will move towards you and cause you damage.

Drops

When you kill an evoker in Minecraft, it may drop one or more of the following items: a Totem of Undying or emerald.

Make sure you pick up the dropped items before they disappear. These are useful and should be kept in your inventory to be used later.

Experience Points

As you play the game, you will gain experience. The most common way to gain experience is by killing mobs. When a mob is killed you will see tiny green and yellow balls appear and move towards you.

These orbs represent experience points. When you kill an evoker, you will gain 10 experience points.
