The Farsighted Mobs Mod (1.21.3, 1.20.1) gives mobs enhanced vision, allowing them to spot players from much greater distances than default settings. Without the mod, zombies, for instance, notice players only within 16 blocks and spawn 24 blocks away. If the player remains stationary, they won’t notice the player. With this mod, mobs can detect players from 24 blocks away (and some from even farther). It’s a small mod that makes Minecraft a bit more hardcore and, at the same time, more engaging.

Features:

  • Hostile mobs can now spot players from a minimum of 32 blocks away, compared to the default 16 blocks. This makes the game more intense and strategic.
  • The mod allows players to configure the detection range for all hostile mobs or even specific mob types. For example, you can make skeletons detect players from 100 blocks away or make zombies nearly blind.
  • The mod is entirely server-sided, meaning it doesn’t require installation on the client side.
  • Only newly spawned mobs are affected by the mod, ensuring a fresh and challenging experience.
