MCPatcher had a feature called Custom Item Textures(CIT). This was later adopted by Optifine. CIT basically allows the textures of items to change depending on certain conditions. And the CIT Resewn mod made it possible to use this feature on Fabric, without the need for MCPatcher or optifine. Forge CIT Mod (1.20.1) is a fork of the CIT Resewn mod for the Forge modloader.

  • Forge CIT is a standalone mod for Minecraft Forge that re-imagines the Custom Item Textures (CIT) feature originally found in MCPatcher. This means you can enjoy the benefits of CIT without relying on MCPatcher or Optifine.

Expanded Customization:

  • While retaining backward compatibility with Optifine/MCPatcher packs, Forge CIT goes a step further by enhancing the concept of CITs. It expands the available types and conditions, providing more flexibility for resource packs to replace the appearance of items based on specific criteria.

No Dependency on Numeric IDs:

  • Unlike the older system that used numeric IDs, Forge CIT adapts to the changes introduced in Minecraft, particularly the Flattening. The removal of the numeric ID system ensures compatibility with the new text IDs, preventing any issues associated with the transition to the updated game structure.
