1. Open the Crafting Menu
First, open your crafting table so that you have the 3×3 crafting grid that looks like this:

In the crafting menu, you should see a crafting area that is made up of a 3×3 crafting grid. To make a gold nugget, place 1 gold ingot in the 3×3 crafting grid.
When making a gold nugget, it is important that the gold ingot is placed in the exact pattern as the image below. In the first row, there should be 1 gold ingot in the first box. This is the Minecraft crafting recipe for a gold nugget.
Now that you have filled the crafting area with the correct pattern, the 9 gold nuggets will appear in the box to the right.

You can add a gold nugget to your inventory in Survival mode by mining nether gold ore. So, let’s get started!
1. Find a Block of Nether Gold Ore
First, you need to find a block of nether gold ore in your Minecraft world. Nether gold ore is found in the Nether in the Crimson Forest, Warped Forest, Soul Sand Valley or Nether Wastes.

2. Hold a Pickaxe
To mine for a gold nugget, you need to dig up the nether gold ore with a pickaxe.

Other tools will not dig up the nether gold ore and drop a gold nugget.
In this example, we are going to use a diamond pickaxe to dig up the nether gold ore.
3. Mine the Nether Gold Ore
The game control to mine the nether gold ore depends on the version of Minecraft:
For Java Edition (PC/Mac), left click and hold on the block of nether gold ore.
For Pocket Edition (PE), you tap and hold on the block of nether gold ore.
