Minecraft 1.21.2 Snapshot 24w35a is now available in your launcher with some nice map upgrades, raid changes, lots of bug fixing, and even some new and improved bee hives. It specifically addresses some important bugs related to the appearance of raids in villages and issues with sacks.

Additions and Modifications:

  • Attackers must find a spawning location within 96 blocks vertically above or below the village center to initiate a raid.
  • It is now much less likely for attackers to be unable to find a valid spawning location during a raid.
  • Honey level and the number of bees are now displayed in the tooltip for beehives and bee nests.

Bundles:

  • Selecting items in a Bundle is now only done by scrolling. In previous snapshots, you could select items in a Bundle with the number keys. However, this feature was removed because it conflicted with hotkeys used by expert players and was less useful now that the Bundle can display more than 10 items.

Technical Changes:

  • The Data Pack version is now 51.
  • A new entity sub-predicate for sheep has been added:
    • sheared: An optional boolean indicating whether the sheep has been sheared.
    • color: An optional wool dye color.
  • Sheep now always use a single loot table (entities/sheep) for drops. Wool drops are still defined in sub-tables within entities/sheep/<color>, but they are now distributed from the main table. Note that mutton drops are controlled by the main table, while sub-tables handle wool drops.
  • Sheep shearing is now controlled by the loot table found as shearing/sheep.
  • Mooshroom shearing is controlled by the loot table found as shearing/mooshroom.
  • The /loot command now returns an error when attempting to drop a block that doesn’t have a loot table (such as air).
  • The special loot table empty has been removed and is no longer defined in the vanilla data pack.
  • Trial Spawner configurations in the fields normal_config and ominous_config are now defined in the registry trial_spawner. This change makes it easier to configure Trial Spawners in data packs.
  • Entity rotation on the x-axis is now clamped between -90 and 90 degrees.
