In Minecraft, you can craft bookshelves using any of the available wooden planks in the game, including the Nether wood variants. But no matter what type of wood you use, the resultant bookshelf will have the standard oak plank texture. Crafting a bookshelf using crimson planks and receiving a bookshelf with oak plank texture as the result is a clear inconsistency. More Bookshelves Variants Mod (1.21.1, 1.20.1) is here with the solution. With this  mod installed, the resulting texture of the wooden part of a bookshelf will depend upon the type of plank used in its crafting recipe.
