Parrots are one among the tameable mobs in the game. You can feed a stray parrot some seeds to tame them and once tamed, they will follow you around. You can even make them sit on your shoulders. In fact, the vanilla game actually allows you to have two parrots resting on you at once, one each on each shoulder. But parrots that are resting on a player’s shoulder will fly off at the slightest discomfort. If you touch water when you have a parrot on your shoulder, it will fly off. If a mob attacks you while a parrot is on your shoulder, it will fly off. This can be an inconvenience as you have to make the parrot rest on you once again. The Persistent Parrots mod is here with the solution. Persistent Parrots Mod (1.21.3, 1.20.1) makes it so that parrots sitting on a player’s shoulders are a lot more tolerant than in the vanilla game. With this mod installed, parrots will not fly off when you touch water. They will only fly off when the player tries to completely submerge himself in water. Even when being attacked, the parrot will not fly away from the player unless its life is under threat.
