Are you ready for a thrilling challenge? With Project Onyx Addon (1.20, 1.19), you can enjoy a unique game mode that combines raids and tower defense. You can use it in any world, on any difficulty, whenever you want! Just craft this special block, grab some equipment, and brace yourself for epic battles and awesome rewards. This addon will spice up your Minecraft adventure like never before!

Features:

  • Project ONYX is an addon that lets you unleash controlled chaos, glory, and rewards in your world. This addon brings you more fun and variety in your world by letting you summon raiders from different multiverses. Protect the pylon at all costs, and claim the legendary loot from these invaders! This addon is still in development and may change a lot.

The Basics:

This is a universal pylon, the foundation for anything you want to do in this addon. This pylon will allow you to summon many beings across different worlds and engage in combat with them. This section will teach you how these items work and allow you to get to playing.

All raid types are going to be unique in their own standards, but there are always a few common denominators.

  • This block is activated by different pylon crystals. each crystal has a TYPE and a DIFFICULTY tied to each one.
  • The TYPE of raid will control what kind of mobs spawn in the event. one may spawn robots and advanced beings, another may spawn dinosaurs.
  • DIFFICULTIES are… difficulties. each type of raid has different categories to challenge the player. for example, one type of raid may have a “standard” mode, then a “chaos” mode, and so on.
  • When raids start (Unless specified), portals will spawn at the north, east, south, and west of the pylon.
  • When a raid starts, anything blocking the mob spawners will be destroyed. And any holes in the ground will be filled up by an unbreakable block. Do not start a raid near anything important.

When you interact with the bottom block, a question mark will pop up. when that question mark pops up you are free to insert a crystal to start whatever raid you want.

Crystals are crafted in a bunch of different ways. Simpler modes are easy to craft, while harder ones are more complex to craft. although, the harder you push through the raid, the more materials you’ll get back. Maybe you’ll even make more than what you spent!

With all of this knowledge, you are ready to craft your first crystal!

Raids

With the basics out of the way, below contains all of the available raids. more types of raids, difficulties, and even special game modes will be added later down the line.

ONYX Raid | Difficulty: Standard

This raid is called the “Onyx” Raid at STANDARD difficulty. This raid consists of advanced, Robotic versions of different pillagers using command blocks and technology to fuel their rampage. They also seem to have controlled odd-looking mutated bosses to fight alongside them. Defeat these odd-looking beefy villagers and take control of them!

Onyx Crystal

  • In order to start a Standard Onyx Raid, you are going to need a… Standard Onyx Pylon Crystal. They are crafted with four Light Blue glass panes, two cyan glass panes, two iron, and a end crystal. Once this crystal is crafted, you are able to activate a universal pylon and insert this crystal in.

Mechanics

  • Ok! You started a raid! …what now?

  • In onyx raids, the pylon in the middle will regenerate health overtime. Your job to to make sure that pylon crystal reaches max health. once at max health, the final test will present itself.

  • But in the meantime, four portals will spawn to the north, south, east, and west of this crystal which will spawn enemies to attack it. Speaking of which… who are they?
Enemies

These are A.L.4.T.1.N.3‘s. Heavily modified vindicators buffer with technological plates which enhance their abilities. there are three different types:

  • Normal ones (middle), which run after and attack things like normal vindicators.
  • Brutes (Left), like normal ones, but have more health and do more damage.
  • Casters (Right) Like evokers, but a bit more dangerous. They are way more aggressive with their spells, plus spawn more non-caster counterparts.

These three types of mobs will spawn in the first phase of this event. They’re a little overwhelming at first but easy once you get used to it. However to make it easier, they DO have some drops.

A.L.4.T.1.N.3‘s have a 25% chance each kill to drop one of two crystals. each one giving rather instant healing or resistance when used on the pylon.

Onto sub bosses!

Sub-Bosses

When the pylon is halfway regenerated, regeneration will stop and summon one of four sub-bosses. Each boss is a wall you have to take care of before continuing.

One of four Sub-Bosses can spawn:

EVO-PUPP3T

  • EVO-PUPP3T is a robotic version of an odd-looking creature chained up and in a suit. Looks aside, he’s pretty dangerous.
  • When attacking, he has one of two attacks. One he will casually attack you like any other mob. The second one being that he summons more backup. Maybe not dangerous dangerous but keep in mind that while you’re fighting the boss mobs are still rolling in. So make sure to keep an eye on the pylon!

C.H.1.P

  • EVO-PUPP3T has a 20% chance to drop C.H.1.P, a blade that allows you to turn the tide on raids.
  • When used, the blade will cause all A.L.4.T.1.N.3‘s in the immediate area to pop their heads off and attack mobs next to them.
  • This ability can only be used on onyx robots.

EVO-MASTER

  • EVO-MASTER is a strangle-looking four-armed beast that floats around.
  • …he attacks like any normal mob but he hits like a truck so be careful.

D1SCIPLIN3

  • EVO-MASTER has a 20% chance to drop “D1SCIPLIN3”, a blade that gives you the opportunity to smack some sense into some robots.
  • When an A.L.4.T.1.N.3 is hit, it has a chance to stun them. On a successful stun, they will immobilized in place. However, if the stun fails they will turn angry and be buffed.
  • This ability can only be used on Onyx robots.

EVO-TROX

  • EVO-TROX is a human covered in very special equipment. He carries a shield with an equalizer on it and it is pretty geared up.
  • He attacks like normal mobs. however, when struck he has a chance to block. If you hit him while he’s blocking he will inflict heavy damage back to you.

B00G13

  • EVO-TROX has a 20% Chance of dropping the “B00G1E” blade. A blade that gives nearby A.L.4.T.1.N.3‘s a dance break.
  • On use, puts nearby A.L.4.T.1.N.E robots in a dance break state. When in this state, they are temporarily immobilized.
  • This ability can only be used on Onyx robots.

A.L.4.V.4.L.K

  • A.L.4.V.4.L.K is a robotic Valkyrie wrecked and destroyed by illagers. It seems along with all of the damage it for some reason is fighting with them now.
  • When damaged, she has a chance to call for backup.

L4ST R3S0RT

  • A.L.4.V.4.L.K has a chance to drop L4ST R3S0RT, a blade that makes EVO-Valkyries into sore losers.
  • On use, causes all nearby Onyx Valkyries to explode. As you probably know, This explosion is not friendly. So be careful where you use it.
Enemies (Continued)

When the Sub-Boss is defeated, the pylon will continue to regenerate health. You are now halfway through the game mode. But the danger is not over yet. There’s a new enemy wandering around.

  • Now that the sub-boss is defeated, you have a new enemy to watch out for. Meet the Evocation Valkyrie and the Evocation EXP-Valkyrie.
  • The normal versions of this mob will attack just like normal mobs. However, on death, they have a 1/4 chance of turning into an EXP Evo Valkyrie.
  • When these valkyries get close to their target, they will explode like creepers. However, unlike creepers, their exploding state cannot be canceled.
Main Boss

Alatar, Usurper of Scrap

When the pylon is in full health, the main boss will spawn. Meet Alatar, Usurper of Scrap.

Alatar is a mutated evoked who found the full potential of command blocks and took it to his advantage, turning himself and others in his clan into robotic beasts.

Alatar has two main attacks:

  • He will Melee attack the player
  • He will summon a backup

While fighting Alatar, keep in the back of your mind that the pylon is still getting attacked in the background. Keep up the balance of fighting Alatar and keeping the pylon safe, and the raid will be complete.

ONYX

  • On death, Alatar has a small chance of dropping ONYX, a sword that allows ultimate control over onyx pylons.
  • When used near an Onyx Crystal Pylon, a random buff is given to it, when an enemy is struck, nearby items are teleported to the user.
  • (This ability can only be used during ONYX Raids)

Loot

When the raid is completed, a loot screen will pop up. showing all of the rewards you received.

As you do the raid, there are multiple factors that can allow you to get more loot or even LESS loot. all possibilities can be found here:

  • 2X Rewards for finishing event with pylon above 90% Health
  • 2X Rewards for finishing event with pylon above 75% Health
  • 2X Rewards for finishing event with pylon above 50% Health
  • 10X Health for finishing event with pylon below 10% Health

At the moment, the pylon rewards give you multiple instances of A.L.4.T.1.N.3 loot. more loot will be added in the future.

Fail

If you fail a raid, the crystal will shatter and no rewards will be dropped. You will also get a mini menu telling you where you failed.
