Space Dimensions Mod (1.20.1, 1.19.2) adds the Moon, Mars, and other solar system worlds, and gives modpack makers the ability to add their own dimensions with space survival elements. Each dimension can have its own gravity and skybox, and also require oxygen for players and mobs. A space suit can be filled with oxygen, or you can build a sealed base with the life support blocks.

Features:

Moon

  • Reaching the moon is the the first main goal in the mod. Fly the crude rocket ship from Earth to a height of 512 to access the moon. It contains abundant iron ore, and some new ores required for advancing in the mod.
  • There is no air on the moon and the gravity is lowered making you jump higher and float down. It is recommended to wear a Protective Suit and to fill the helmet with oxygen from Life Support.
  • Inhabitants of the moon include Moonmites. There are also huts generated on the Moon with a hostile alien species inside. It is recommended to bring weaponry and armor should you plan to confront this species.

Mars

  • Mars is the second destination accessible after building the basic rocket. Normal resources are more scarce here than on the Moon. However, rich deposits can be found on the surface that can be slowly mined indefinitely with the Mining Drill.

Ganymede

  • Ganymede is a moon of Jupiter and the third accessible world. Cold shards and cosmic crystals found here are required for advancing.

Mercury

  • Mercury is a dangerously hot planet that requires Cooling armor to survive. There are very few resources aside from space debris. Breaking these blocks will yield scrap items that can be traded with the Salvager villager.

Titan

  • Titan is a moon of Saturn that is saturated in a heavy fog. It is mostly barren, except for pools of sludge that can be refined into rocket fuel. Slimes can also be found near sludge lakes.

Europa

  • Europa is a moon of Jupiter and contains a sub surface ocean. Accessing the ocean requires building a structure with the Transport core blocks. Build a column of transport cores all the way to bedrock. Place a normal transport duct block on top of the column. If set up correctly, right clicking the top block will transport you beneath the surface.
  • A return column is created above the player, so do not forget where this is. The ocean floor is very deep and you will be in total darkness until you get there.

Io

  • Io is a moon of Jupiter with a volcanic surface. Besides basalt and lava, you can find sulfur vents that can send players skyward if stepped over. These vents are harvestable and can make good elevators.

Vehicles

Crude Rocketship

  • This first spacecraft can travel between the Moon and Earth. Powered by firework rockets, its recommended to take a stack of them for a two way trip.
  • There are two ways of fueling the vehicle. Manually add rockets by shift right clicking it while holding rockets, or place them in a nearby Rocket Station and they will be sent to the ship.

Basic Rocketship

  • The next tier after the crude rocketship, this one has the added ability to utilize boosters (created with the Packing Machine) to travel further than the Moon.

Starship

  • The starship is a player built structure that allows travel between planets in the solar system. It is simulated with its own dimension so only one can be built per server. It serves as a space base, and is accessed though the Beamer block.
  • The power source can be fueled with cosmic crystals (found on Ganymede), or power shards. Cosmic crystals can be farmed so its possible to plant them on the starship itself.
  • The control panel’s GUI allows tu(left and right) and activating the displacement engines (up). The center button will stop the last command. When close to a planet or moon, the GUI will display information about the world including temperature and atmosphere pressure. If the name is in green, beaming to the planet is possible.

Hoverbike

  • The hoverbike is a surface exploration vehicle that hovers off of the ground. Holding the jump button will give a temporary boost to hover at a greater height.
  • Fuel can be added by being nearby a stocked rocket station, or manually from a fluid tank using a bucket.

Mobile Mining Unit

  • The Mobile Mining Unit is a vehicle with the ability to quickly mine blocks. It is similar to the hoverbike but slower and uses more fuel. It must be manually refueled with a fuel cannister, and can be returned into item form by being broken by the player. Mobile Mining Units also can destroy 3 by 3 blocks at a time.
