This Minecraft tutorial explains how to craft a spider eye with screenshots and step-by-step instructions.
In Minecraft, a spider eye is an item that when eaten can give you the Poison effect. It is also a useful item in brewing. You can not make with a crafting table or furnace. Instead, you need to find and gather this item in the game.
Let’s explore how to add a spider eye to your inventory.

How to get a Spider Eye in Survival Mode
You can add a spider eye to your inventory in Survival mode by killing a spider. So let’s get started!
1. Find a Spider
You first need to find a spider. You can find spiders in most Overworld biomes in light levels of 7 or less. Spiders will spawn in the dark, usually at night.
2. Attack and Kill a Spider
Once you find a spider, you need to attack it. When you attack the spider, it will turn pink as it takes damage.
Continue to chase and attack the spider. The spider will disappear when it is killed.
When the spider is killed, it may drop one of the following items: spider eye or string. There isn’t a 100% chance that the spider will drop a spider eye when it dies. If it doesn’t drop one, find another spider and try again.
3. Pick up the Spider Eye
Make sure you pick up the dropped items before they disappear.
These are useful items and should be kept in your inventory to be used later.
