Taco’s Critters Addon (1.20) enriches Minecraft’s ecosystem by adding charming new creatures to the fauna. Features:

Mobs:

Capybara:

  • Capybaras spawn in Savanna Biomes as either adults or babies
  • Adult Capybara can be bred with beetroot, carrots, apples, potatoes, bread, melon slices, glow berries, and sweet berries
  • when killed, Capybaras drop Raw Capybara which can be smelted into Cooked Capybara

Chameleon:

  • Chameleons spawn in Jungle Biomes
  • Chameleons are terrified of players and when frightened, will camouflage themselves to avoid any threat

Crab:

  • Crabs spawn on sandy Beach Biomes
  • they spawn as either Red Crabs or Blue Crabs
  • when killed, Crabs drop Raw Crab which can be smelted into Cooked Crab
  • Crabs are not hostile by default, but when antagonized will seek after the player and pinch them with their claws

Platypus:

  • Platypuses spawn in Mesa Biomes
  • Platypuses are docile by default, but if attacked, will do one damage to the player and inflict wither damage for ten seconds
  • when killed, Platypuses drop Raw Platypus which can be cooked into Cooked Platypus
  • look for a cool Easter Egg, by naming a platypus “Perry”

Raccoon:

  • Raccoons spawn naturally in Taiga Forests
  • Baby Raccoons can be tamed with cookies and once tamed, can be made to follow the player or sit
  • Adult Raccoons can be bred with beetroot, carrots, apples, potatoes, bread, melon slices, glow berries, and sweet berries
  • When killed, Raccoons drop Raw Raccoon which can be smelted into Cooked Raccoon

Snail:

  • Snails spawn in any Forest Biome as one of four texture variants
  • there is a chance that an Evil Snail may spawn which is functionally the same as normal snails, save the tendency of to hunt down unsuspecting players and kill them
  • All snails can be caught in buckets, including Evil Snails

Squirrel:

  • Squirrels spawn in Birch Forests as either a Brown Squirrel or a Black Squirrel
  • when killed, Squirrels drop Raw Squirrel which can cooked into Cooked Squirrel
  • alternatively, Raw Squirrel and Cooked Squirrel can be crafted into Raw Squirrel Kebabs and Cooked Squirrel Kebabs respectively
  • Raw Squirrel Kebabs can also be smelted into Cooked Squirrel Kebabs
  • Squirrels can be bred with either Sweet Berries or Glow Berries

Tortoise:

  • Tortoises spawn in desert biomes
  • When killed, Tortoises drop Raw Turtle which can be smelted into Cooked Turtle
