The John Reborn Mod (1.20.1, 1.19.4) is a horror mod inspired from the 2011 Minecraft Mod, The John Mod, and the 2012 remake, along with the 2020 remaster of the mod. The mod aims to recreate a modern look of the John, featuring new items, textures, and new creatures to discover, while keeping the same creepy vibe from the original mod, and more.

This mod adds some of the scariest mobs into Minecraft! You think Herobrine or Slenderman are scary? Wait until you see John…

Features:

The John

A rare creature, colloquially known as “John.” Its origins are completely unknown. As far as what we do know, well, very few have ever lived to tell the tale. Its skin is extremely thin and almost completely white. With two mouths, one on its torso and the other on its head, the humanoid creature is known for ripping its victims apart and consuming their husks simultaneously. Its face bears a striking resemblance to that of a crying man, its mouth wide open, constantly emitting a piercing cry, all with a constant stream of bloody tears coming from its soulless eyes. It preys on fear and will often toy with its victims before it strikes. They are fast, strong, efficient, and brutal. Do not approach.

John Sub Type 1: The Sprinting John

Just like its usual variant, the Sprinting John is remarkably dangerous. Physically it is nearly identical to regular Johns, with the difference being implied in its name. These variants will charge at their prey the second they detect them, they have a certain affinity for the hunt, they seem to act as though they enjoy the chase. They are extremely fast, no human can outrun them. If it sees you, you can only hide and pray it doesn’t find you. Keep in mind they aren’t particularly intelligent, and are easily confused. If needed, use this to your advantage. Do not approach.

John Sub Type 2: The Hugging John

Some theorize this and some other variants are made from the remnants of tortured souls previously hunted by other Johns. This would explain their “hugging” motions, as if they’re trying to cling onto whatever humanity, if any, is left in them. Though this is not proven. They constantly extend their arms as if to greet you in a warm embrace, but do not be fooled. If their freakish demeanor wasn’t enough to scare you off, if they grab you, there is no going back. You will be dead before you realize what’s happening. As long as you don’t get too close, you should live. In any case, do not approach.

John Sub Type 3: The Weeping John

Similarly to the aforementioned Hugging John, some theorize this variant is made from the remnants of tortured souls previously hunted by other Johns. Instead of clinging to their humanity, like their counterparts, these variants would have given up all hope and succumbed to their horrific state. They cry more than all their counterparts, perhaps in an effort to appeal to one’s empathy in order to lure them in. But do not be fooled. The second you avert your gaze, they will strike. They are fast and extremely dangerous when you aren’t looking. If you see one, do not look away, do not make a sound, and most importantly, do not blink. This variant can be killed if you follow these steps. If you see one, do not run; follow these instructions.

Baby Johns

These infant variants are the young versions of the previous variants. They have not yet developed any special “skills,” as it were. But they can still be dangerous, especially in groups. They emerge in groups of up to 15, and are remarkably fast, much faster than most adult versions. However they are also much weaker. Contrary to most biological fauna, these infants have a low pitched voice that gets higher the older they get, their screams cannot be heard from far. Regardless, they are still hostile despite their infancy. Do not approach.

The Moon’s Effects

On the full moon johns and baby johns have a 50 percent chance to spawn with a strength or speed buff. However, because the first night is always a full moon. For overall player experience reasons, this will happen on the second full moon, 7 days after the first night. However there is one other mob affected by the moon

The Hunted

You can hear it when it first appears. There is a distant cry that you can hear. However, it doesn’t appear until the Waxing Gibbous, which is just prior to the full moon. All creatures chase it away, but nothing ever pays it any attention. It appears to be nonexistent. it’s made to roam till the next day, until the Mega John emerges as the full moon rises.

Mega John

When the moon is full, the Hunted changes. A bolt of energy strikes him. Similar to a lighting bolt. This transforming him, into a Mega John. His height dwarfs the trees in the forest. He is 15 meters tall, has a 200-meter range of vision, and can be heard shrieking from a distance of more than 500 meters. If you see him, run away, hide, and wait. He’ll be gone for the next three lunar cycles.. Because it is the most terrifying thing I have ever seen..
