TimeOutOut Mod (1.21.1, 1.20.1) is a server mod that allows configurable connection timeouts. In vanilla Minecraft, the connection timeouts are hardcoded and often not long enough for slower computers or heavier modded instances. Adding fixed values to these settings can cause lag spikes when other players leave the game or may limit your performance by prioritizing long-distance connections over nearby ones, particularly in a city environment. This mod allows you to set configurable timeouts based on the connecting player or entity’s latency or packet size. You can also specify a time when clients must rejoin before being disconnected. Features without a specified side are server-sided. It allows you to set custom connection times and define what activities should reset your concurrent connections while keeping other features, such as pipelining and chunk cached packets, untouched.

The connection read timeout

  • Both client and server-sided.
  • Raised to 120 seconds from the vanilla value of 30 seconds by default.

The login timeout

  • How long the server waits for a player to log in.
  • Raised to 2400 ticks (120 seconds) from the vanilla value of 600 ticks (30 seconds) by default.

The KeepAlive timeout

  • How long the server waits for a player to return a KeepAlive packet before disconnecting them.
  • Raised to 120 seconds from the vanilla value of 30 seconds by default.
