This Minecraft tutorial explains how to craft a warped stem with screenshots and step-by-step instructions.

In Minecraft, a warped stem is a new item that was introduced in the Nether Update. The warped stem and the crimson stem and are basically the Nether’s version of a log. What makes a warped stem so unique (compared to Overworld logs such as oak, spruce, birch, jungle, acacia, dark oak) is that warped stems and items made out of warped stems can not be destroyed by fire.

A warped stem is an item that you can not make with a crafting table or furnace. Instead, you need to find and gather this item in the game.

Let’s explore how to add a warped stem to your inventory.

Where to find a Warped Stem in Creative Mode

Here is where you can find a warped stem in the Creative Inventory menu:

How to get a Warped Stem in Survival Mode

You can add a warped stem to your inventory in Survival mode by finding a warped stem and gathering it. So, let’s get started!

1. Find a Warped Stem

First, you need to find a warped stem growing in your Minecraft world. A warped stem is found in the Nether in the Warped Forest.

This is what a warped stem looks like:

2. Break the Warped Stem

The game control to break the warped stem depends on the version of Minecraft:

  • For Java Edition (PC/Mac), left click and hold on the warped stem.
  • For Pocket Edition (PE), you tap and hold on the warped stem.
  • For Xbox One, press and hold the RT button on the Xbox controller.

The warped stem will break and a smaller warped stem will float on the ground.
